Description

O'Captain My Captain.

Its a poem by walt whitman.
Its about Abraham Lincoln.
I learned all of that from Robin Willams in Dead Poets Society. I also learned that thinking outside the box was more than okay and that I didn't have to conform but that I should be respectful to those who do not agree with my views and that not only poetry but literature itself is a beautiful gift that should be cherished and loved and used to make friends and learned from so maybe my mind might expand.

I'm a little late to the game posting this,I got it about a week after Robin left us. This man was my childhood, He made me laugh, made me cry,and taught me life lessons I never knew I needed until they were being presented to me. And so friends, here's to the Cheif,Mr.Keating, the genie, mork, mrs.doubtfire, peter pan,and many many many other classic characters that Robin Willams gave life to,here's to him. I will always stand on a desk for him, because he taught me so many wonderful things.

I owe no one any kind of explanation, but I'll give it. I chose this specific line because its one thats always stuck with me. I watched DPS in high school in english class for an assignment (mind you I'm 23 now and that was 4 years ago) I never appreciated literature or poetry before,I mean I loved it but I wasn't in love with it. Sure I picked up a book and read it,and sure I loved it enough to talk about it and cherish it,but I never really APPRECIATED it,I never realized that peoples stories and poems and other works were their way of life,it was their legacy,it was their mark in the world. Its what keeps them and kept them alive for centuries, years,Milena to come. When those kids stood on their desks for Mr.Keating it was because they appreciated him, they respected him. They weren't defying the teacher or pulling some stunt, they were showing him what he deserved because he impacted their lives, and gave them a whole new view on a subject they once found boring or perhaps gave them a new outlook on life.
That is why I chose O' Captain My Captain,I could have gotten a portrait or a genie lamp,or another quote from any one of his other movies or interviews but they wouldn't have mattered as much. The things and people that you remember the best are the things and people  that stick with you forever.
Robin Williams is one of those people.

Don't ever be afraid to speak up,and never ever be afraid to stand out. Be who you are, live your dreams, live your life laughing and never let the sadness get you down. The mind is a great and wonderful thing it is also dark and terrible when it wants to be,don't be afraid to get help, because its never too late.

Thanks for the smiles,Robin, you'll be missed.

Done at Killer Ink Tattoo in Buford Georgia, took about a half hour 45 minutes, and YES it HURT. Its a silly question in which I will give a silly reply to if asked. It was a sensitive area,it wasn't too bad,but I can handle a bit of pain, someone else might end up crying. I made a few faces and winced a little. I've had it for a month or so now, maybe less,my foot swelled up for about a day,and then it was a normal tattoo healing process.
